In January 2011, my beloved fiance moved to Delaware. That was the first step closer to us getting married while I finished school (which I get free tuition, thanks to the SEED program). Ryan found a great full-time job in February all thanks to God almighty. All of his credits transferred to Wilmington University in order for him to finish his bachelor's degree in marketing. My parents set up a double-wide home on a piece of property for him to rent and for us to rent for a few years when we got married.
We decided to get married on 11-11-11 and the marriage planning began. I knew that it would be very stressful to plan a wedding and finish college, but I was determined. Summer 2011 I took an online class so I would only have to take 4 classes in the fall when Ryan and I would be getting married. The weekends that I wasn't busy with homework, my mom and I went shopping for wedding decorations, etc. It seemed like November would never get here, until I started college--that is when the days started flying by and it seemed like I would have no time to do anything. God was so good to me and helped me through.
November 11, 2011 at 5 o'clock p.m. I married the man of my dreams.
We did not go on a honeymoon since we are both still in school, but we did not mind. Two weeks after we got married we drove to Ryan's hometown and celebrated thanksgiving with his family. Two weeks following thanksgiving we went back to Virginia for our VA Reception that his mom did for us. His family did a fabulous job! Our semester ended the week before the VA reception and we were able to relax. Christmas was on it's way and my sister was moving in her new house one week before Christmas. I was as busy as a bee helping my sister clean her new house, as well as move into her house. Our first Christmas was great, but busy. We woke up early, went to my sister's house to watch my nieces open their gifts then went to church service where I sang in our big christmas choir cantata. After service we had lunch at my parents, and well, crashed for the afternoon. When we finally woke up, we went to my aunt and uncle's house next door for dinner. It was a very busy day, but also, very memorable.
On December 31, 2011 we celebrated the new year with our wonderful friends at an 80's dance party that Allie hosted at the Goehringer home. We danced, played mofia, ate foooood, and talked for hours until midnight came around. We went outside and Zach and Debra shot guns off (a tradition for our street) and Zach even let me shoot the gun! It was powerful! haha
2011 was a very eventful year that I will never forget. I foresee 2012 being just as great. I graduate college, hopefully get a full-time job, and Ryan and I will be on our way to saving for our very own home. God has truly blessed our lives and for that, I am thankful.
